Add a record to the database

Newly added surnames in the records will be circulated in the GenWed Newsletter. (Sign-up page)

For privacy reasons, only marriage records dated 1968 and earlier are published.
Marriages that took place after 1968 will be kept in a separate database and as they become old enough (40 years), will be added to the searchable database.

The marriages in GenWed's database have either been transcribed by myself or contributed by visitors like you.

New records are constantly being added, so if you don't find the record you are looking for today, search again at a later date or add the names and information you have along with your email address and someone may contact you with more information!

When adding marriage records to the free database your email address is only necessary if you want others to contact you with information or questions about your records.

GenWed has not verified these marriage records, nor can we. Any record found in this database was added through the form and should be verified by one of these means:

• Contacting the contributor for the source of the marriage record.
• Contacting the state/county where the marriage took place. Most of GenWed's state and county pages have contact addresses for verifying records.
• By checking the names and dates, then ordering a copy of the marriage record from a reputable source online.
