How to Obtain an Idaho Marriage Certificate:

The state of Idaho, the expansive home to over one million people, is most often referenced in conjunction with potatoes. The capital city is Boise, which would be your ideal starting point when searching for Idaho marriage records.  Almost all public records, including marriage and birth records, are deposited and stored there. Of course, you can generally find a copy of your marriage record on file in the town that you got married in.  Finding a copy of marriage records can sometimes be tricky, unless you know and implement one of the following methods.

Finding Records On Your Own

Most people attempt to locate Idaho marriage records themselves, on their own, as their initial effort at gathering family information. Unfortunately, many people have no clue as to where they need to go in order to actually obtain access to these records. If you're looking to gain access to Idaho marriage records, the first thing to do is check out the Idaho Department of Public Health's webpage and downloading the form to request records.  Ideally, you would be able to view all public records there, but at this point in time, that is not possible.

The course of action includes filling out and sending in, via postal service, a request to view certain files. A nominal fee is required in addition to the correct request form; this fee covers the cost the state incurs of paying researchers to locate and prepare the records to send back to you.  It can take as long as a few weeks to get copies of the records you requested from:
